Here's a little info on the festival:
The 31st Annual Monroe County Watermelon Festival held annually on the Saturday prior to Labor Day in downtown Tompkinsville. The festivities include 150 vendors selling arts and crafts, commercial items and food, parade, quilt show, car show. Enjoy all the traditional festival favorites including largest watermelon, best decorated watermelon contests, rolley- hole marble tournament, greased watermelon and seed spittin contests. Good food, good music, good family fun.
